ASSESSORS MEETING MINUTES

APRIL 21, 2005

7:00 P.M.  Called meeting to order.  Present:  Paula Keefe, Richard Gorden and Mark

                  Mazur

1.  The Board reviewed and approved the minutes to their 3/31/05 meeting.

2.  The Board granted a clause 41A deferral exemption to the owner of parcel

     #080045000.  The Board then signed a deferral agreement with the owner and a lien to

     be placed upon the property.

3.  The Board reviewed notices from the Appellate Tax Board (ATB) informing us that

     two cases were decided in our favor.

4.  The Board discussed the status of an appeal of an ATB decision to the Appeals Court.

5.  The Administrative Assessor discussed his meeting with the Board of Selectmen to

     discuss a loophole in personal property tax law.  The Board reviewed and then signed

     letters to our state representatives supporting the closing of the loophole.

6.  The Board discussed the $25,000 of revaluation funding that is missing from our fiscal

     2006 budget as listed in the Town  warrant.

7.  The Board reviewed the settlement of a fiscal year 2004 ATB case.  The Board then

     granted a fiscal year 2004 abatement in accordance with the settlement agreement

     with the owner of parcel #065069000.

8.  The Board took the following actions on  clause 18 personal exemption                             

     applications for  the owners of the following properties:

                        Parcel #084062000                  Denied

9.  The next Board meeting will be May 12, 2005.
